Course responsibilities:
Introduction to Graphic Design
This course introduces students to the technology, vocabulary, methods, and processes used to successfully integrate the computer as a designer's tool. Students learn about composition, principles of design, visual space, hierarchy and organization. Emphasis on the fundamentals of communication in project design, and the critique and evaluation process. Programs used: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.

Introduction to Web Design
Introduction to Web Design emphasizes the creative process and theory of designing for the Internet. Students explore various design problems and assignments focus on the unique form, content and structures associated with designing for the World Wide Web. Programs used: Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash.

2D Design
An introductory survey to the techniques, materials, vocabulary and strategies of two-dimensional design. Students engage in projects that focus on design concepts with emphasis on developing their creative problem solving skills. Experimentation with materials and processes are highly encouraged.

Drawing
An introductory survey to the techniques, materials, vocabulary and strategies of drawing. Exercises based upon observation, interpretation, process, and problem solving to develop a visual vocabulary. Course involves multiple approaches to drawing, field drawing at various sites and rigorous projects resulting in high quality student work.

Student Teacher Supervisor
